This website is a WIP at the moment - I've been overhauling the main page and blog posts over the summer holiday. Feel free to browse what I've written for the time being, but definitely check it out again on the 26th September, since I'm planning to have the website completely finished by the time that my university course starts again.

I've found that a lot of the educational articles being produced about Duelyst are focused heavily on top-tier competitive play and assume that the reader is already familiar with many of the nuances of Duelyst and CCGs as a whole - while there's a handful of articles that are also aimed at completely new players (providing budget-friendly decks and important advice regarding positioning), there's relatively little available for someone who wants to bridge that gap and learn many of the fundamental aspects of CCG design before they start climbing to Gold or Diamond.

As such, this website won't contain many discussions of the metagame or suggestions on particularly effective budget-friendly decks. There's already many of those articles written by more qualified S-Rank players, so I'll be collecting and providing links to some recommended articles on those subjects that other players have produced - I'm still deciding whether those articles will have their own page or be listed alongside my own on the home page, but that'll be added eventually.

Instead, I'll be examining the fundamental concepts that underpin competitive Duelyst - how minions are used to contest the mana springs, which factors affect the strength of different Neutral minions and what on earth everyone mean when they use phrases such as 'tempo' and 'board control'. Assuming that you've never played a CCG in your life and that Duelyst is your first collection-based game, I'll be providing all of the information that you'll need to get up to speed with players who already had experience with CCGs such as Hearthstone and Magic: the Gathering - from there, it all comes down to practice.

For an evaluation of the current competitive metagame, look at the Mana Ranks produced by the team of S-Rank players on Managlow

For a showcase of budget decks, look at the Economy Class Duelyst article produced by the S-Rank veteran _Zyx_
